PREPARATION

-
Before your first session, you will need to fill out an online NEW CLIENT INTAKE FORM and make sure to provide accurate and complete information. This ensures that your therapist knows to avoid any techniques that may exacerbate certain medical conditions.
-
AVOID eating a large meal at least two hours before your appointment. You may need to bring a small snack, to avoid a drop in blood-sugar following your session.
WHAT TO WEAR
-
For a Table Massage, clients are welcome to undress to their level of comfort. You will be draped (with sheets) in a secure and professional manner throughout your whole session.
-
For Thai Massage, please bring loose, clean, comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement. Long sleeve/pants that and an extra clean pair of socks is best.
DURING YOUR SESSION
-
Let your focus relax and allow the process of receiving to happen. Breathing deeply "into" any discomfort may help.
-
Relax your body and muscles. Unless your therapist verbally requests help.
-
Communicate. This can't be overstated. Feel free to report any discomfort, sensation, or concerns. Questions are welcome.
-
Choose silence or sharing. This is your time. Relaxation often occurs through silent unwinding, or through mindful sharing. Anything you share is strictly confidential, as upheld by the standard of licensed massage therapist professional ethics. We deeply value the ethics for a licensed massage therapist.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
-
A variety of self-care practices can help to integrate the changes to your body after your massage. Time permitting you can extend your session then or reschedule schedule for a Yoga Therapy session
-
Massage moves fluids out of your tissues, and into your urinary system. You may need to go to the bathroom after your session. To replenish all that fluid, and to keep waste moving out of your tissues...it's important to stay hydrated & warm.
-
FINAL NOTE: Chronic postural, medical or emotional issues are best addressed over time. Please do not put the expectation of "instant healing" on yourself or your therapist. For best results, we can work out a treatment plan for your specific goals.
"I'd say it takes at least 6 sessions to learn how to be a good massage client"
